From a single idea to a continent-wide mission — here’s how Imagine Cinemas began.
2022
The Idea. Founder Olamilekan Dauda Olawale identified a critical gap: world-class cinema experiences were inaccessible to the vast majority of Africans. Imagine Cinemas was born.
2023
First Deployment. Our first mobile cinema setup was deployed at a campus in Lagos — 400 students experienced cinema-grade entertainment for the first time on their own grounds.
2024
Brand Activations. We expanded into product brand activations, partnering with major FMCG and entertainment brands to deliver immersive screening experiences at their launch events.
2025
Pan-African Expansion. Screenings in 12+ cities. VIP private events. HNI luxury screenings. Imagine Cinemas became the go-to mobile cinema partner for brands, universities, and event organisers across Nigeria.
2026
The Continent Calls. We are now building towards full pan-African coverage — bringing cinema to audiences from Lagos to Nairobi, Accra to Johannesburg.
